I made the Maya in a soft cotton lawn and the finished pants are beautiful and comfortable. The waist was about two centimetres larger than my measurement suggested, which was easy enough to take in at the side seams. The overall result is very wearable and I'd make this again.

I added a short side slit at the hem of each leg and finished it with a narrow facing, and the result is really elegant. The straight grain at the side seam made this modification easy and the slit falls cleanly. Worth trying if you want more movement.
