Become a Winslet’s Pattern Tester!

Are you ready to help us perfect our digital sewing patterns? We're looking for enthusiastic sewists of all sizes and skill levels to join our pattern testing community!

What You Need to Know about Pattern Testing

  • Open to All: Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, your feedback is valuable to us.
  • Inclusive Process: We’re testing various patterns and need feedback on fit across all sizes, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. Please don't worry if you're not selected for a particular test; there will be many more spots spread throughout the year.
  • Compensation: As a thank you, you’ll receive a free copy of the finished pattern once it’s released and USD 30 as a compensation for associated fabric costs. 

How to Join

  1. Sign Up: Fill out our Application Form to get started.
  2. Review: We’ll review all applications and add all eligible participants to our Facebook community.
  3. Stay Updated: When a new pattern or edit is ready for testing, we will share an image and description along with the required sizes on the community group. 
  4. Express Interest: When a pattern catches your eye, indicate your interest by commenting on the post. 
  5. Personal Invitations: Based on your application, we may also reach out on email with personalized suggestions for patterns to test.

 

Testing Commitments

  1. Timely Completion: Typically, you’ll have 3-4 weeks to complete your project. If you commit to a test, please make every effort to complete it on time. We understand that unexpected events can occur, but repeated delays may result in removal from the testing pool.
  2. Focus on Sewing experience: Our patterns are professionally tech edited before reaching you, so your primary task will be to test the sewing experience and fit.
  3. Fabric Selection: Choose fabrics that are aesthetically pleasing. If you need suggestions, we're happy to provide guidance or even supply the fabric for your test.
  4. Quality Photos: Take high-quality photos using natural light. Be creative and capture action shots. By submitting your photos, you grant Winslet’s permission to use them for promoting the pattern.
  5. Following Instructions: Carefully read and follow the pattern instructions. It is crucial to strictly follow the pattern instructions without making modifications. The goal is to provide accurate feedback on the clarity of the instructions. Any deviations can affect the true representation of Winslet’s patterns and buyers expect the final product to match the tester photos.
  6. Testing Survey: Share your completed tests along with your insights through our straightforward survey when requested for pattern promotion.
  7. Questions and Support: Our team is here to help with any questions during the testing phase. Feel free to ask questions and share any corrections in the testing group.
