Pattern Inventory: What Pieces to Prepare

Prepare the following pattern pieces:
- A. Front — Cut 1 Fabric
- B. Back — Cut 1 Fabric
- C. Gusset — Cut 1 Fabric
- D. Armhole Binding — Cut 2 Fabric
- E. Neck and Leg Opening Binding — Cut 2 Fabric
For home printing, use the A4/US Letter pattern.
For copy shop printing, use the A0 pattern.
Pattern Marking

The pattern includes markings to help accurately assemble the bodysuit, including:
- Grainlines
- Neckline
- Armholes
- Shoulders
- Side seams
- Leg openings
- Crotch
- Gusset top edge
Transfer all markings carefully before sewing to ensure each piece aligns correctly during construction.
Cutting Layout

Follow the cutting layout diagrams provided in the sewing guide to ensure every pattern piece is cut on grain.
The guide includes layouts for:
- 45" fabric width
- 60" fabric width
The layouts are non-directional. If your fabric has a nap or directional print, purchase additional fabric to accommodate pattern placement. The layouts shown use a US Size 12 as the example.
Fabric Cutting and Preparation
Arrange the pattern pieces according to the cutting layout diagrams, ensuring the grainline arrows remain parallel to the fabric selvage.
If using fabric shears, trace the pattern pieces before cutting. Cut carefully outside the marked lines and clip all notches, as these markings help align the garment during construction.
Transfer all pattern markings—including circles, buttonholes, and fold lines—to the wrong side of the fabric. Mark the center front on pieces cut on the fold to ensure accurate alignment during assembly.
Seam Allowance
Please follow the seam allowances as indicated on the pattern file layers. These are provided specifically for each piece to ensure accurate construction.
This pattern uses a 1 cm (3/8") seam allowance all around except armholes, neckline and leg openings.
Step-by-Step Sewing Instructions
1. Prepare the Gusset
Serge the top edge of the gusset (Pattern C).
2. Attach the Crotch
2a. Place the right side of the gusset against the wrong side of the back piece (Pattern B), aligning the crotch edges.
2b. Place the front piece (Pattern A) over the back with right sides together, aligning the crotch edges with the gusset.
2c. Overlock through all layers along the crotch seam.
2d. Spread the front and back pieces open from the seamline so the wrong side faces up.
2e. Place the gusset over the front piece and align the leg opening seamlines. Baste along the seam allowance to hold the gusset in place before final stitching.
3. Bind the Leg Openings, Armholes, and Neckline
3a. Set up the binder attachment as shown in the sewing guide.
3b. Position the binding correctly in the binder.
3c. Insert a neck and leg opening binding strip (Pattern E) into the binder and stitch about 3/8" to secure the fold. Feed the front leg opening into the binder and continue stitching around to the back leg opening. Continue using the same binding strip for the second leg opening.
3d. Insert another neck and leg opening binding strip (Pattern E) into the binder and stitch about 3/8" to secure the fold. Feed the front neckline into the binder and sew from one end to the other. Continue with the same binding strip for the back neckline.
Repeat the same process for both armholes using the armhole binding pieces (Pattern D).
Note: If you prefer not to use a binder, fold the seam allowance to the wrong side and finish the neckline, armholes, and leg openings with either a coverstitch or a zig-zag stitch.
4. Attach the Side Seams
Turn the bodysuit wrong side out.
Align the side seams and overlock from the underarm to the leg opening on both sides.
5. Attach the Shoulders
With the bodysuit still wrong side out, align the shoulder seams and overlock to complete the garment.
