I've now made Aspen three times in three completely different fabrics — a cotton check, a linen blend, and a soft chambray — and each version has become a wardrobe regular. The pattern cost is negligible spread across three shirts and the quality of each one is something I couldn't find off the rack in my size.

Great shirt, cuff instructions could go deeper

The overall shirt is excellent and I've worn it multiple times since making it. My only note is that the step for attaching the cuffs could use a closer photograph — the instruction described the process but I had to figure out the easing independently. I got there in the end and the cuffs sit well, but an extra image would help.

Made a sleeveless version for summer

I made a sleeveless shirt from Aspen by skipping the sleeves entirely and binding the armholes with a narrow self-fabric strip. The front and back panels work perfectly without sleeves and the collar gives it a polished look that a band collar or tie front wouldn't. A very wearable summer variation.

I've made plenty of shirts but the sleeve placket is always where things get awkward, and Aspen's instructions handled it better than any pattern I've used before. The photos showed the placket at every stage and the note about which layer goes on top when folding was exactly the clarification I needed. Clean finish.

The seam allowances are marked clearly throughout and the pattern pieces have accurate notch placement so matching seams requires no guesswork. As a regular sewist I've used plenty of patterns where something is slightly off in the collar curve or the sleeve pitch, but Aspen has none of those issues. This is a keeper.
