Good set but waistband on skirt slightly stiff

I really enjoy the Olivia coord and the fit in size S was very good through both pieces. My one note is that the skirt waistband, when interfaced as instructed, can feel slightly stiff in lighter-weight fabrics like cotton lawn. I would suggest using a lighter interfacing for very fine fabrics. Otherwise the pattern is excellent and both pieces are well drafted.

A0 format from print shop saved time

I used the A0 file at my print shop and the coord set pieces were arranged well on the sheet. Having the top and skirt pieces all on one large sheet made it easy to see the complete pattern at once. No assembly required and cutting was straightforward.

Cropped the top a bit shorter for a trend look

I cut the top piece 4cm shorter than the pattern to get a cropped fit that works better with the high-waisted skirt. The modification was very simple and the proportions of the finished set looked exactly as I had pictured. The two pieces together still look cohesive and intentional.

Top neckline finish is nicely handled

The top neckline is finished with a facing rather than a simple turned edge, which gives it a really clean look from the outside. The facing is interfaced which helps it sit flat and not roll outward. This level of finish detail is what separates a good pattern from a great one.

Skirt construction is clean and well finished

The skirt in the Olivia coord is constructed with a neat waistband and clean hem that gives it a much more polished finish than many summer skirt patterns I have tried. As an intermediate sewist I notice these details and this pattern handles them well. My linen set looks like something I could sell.
