The Donna is a beautiful pattern and I'm very happy with the finished dress in cotton lawn. My first shirring attempt didn't gather correctly — I hadn't wound the bobbin with enough tension. Once I re-wound it properly and re-stitched, the gathering was perfect. The instructions describe the correct winding method; I just hadn't been careful enough on the first pass.
