above my paygrade! Instructions need more detail and perhapse a video turorial on the back and sleeve vents.

Lining attachment instructions could be more detailed

The final lining attachment step was the one area where I felt the instructions moved a little quickly. I had to make a few judgement calls about how to slipstitch the hem lining. The result looks fine but a couple more photos at that stage would really help. Everything else about the pattern was excellent.

Took in the waist seam for a more defined silhouette

The standard cut has a relaxed waist which suits many builds, but I prefer something a little more defined. I took in one centimetre at each side waist seam and the silhouette became exactly what I wanted. The fact that the pattern has proper side seams makes adjustments like this simple.

Lengthened the sleeves and lined with a silk blend

My arms are longer than average so I added two centimetres to the sleeve at the lengthen line. I also chose a silk habotai for the lining instead of the standard polyester and the result feels luxurious. The pattern accommodated both changes without any difficulty.

Intermediate sewist found the drafting very clean

The pattern pieces fit together with minimal easing and the collar seam sits exactly where it should. I have made several blazers from different patterns and Monroe is among the best drafted of them. The welt pocket instructions in particular are good but can be even better with photos.

How do I figure out the right size?
Before selecting a pattern size, take accurate measurements of your bust, waist, and hips. Choose the size from our chart that closely aligns with your measurements.
If your bust/waist/hip measurements align with different sizes, you would want to choose the size based on the apparel category or the garment fit and make adjustments to blend sizes. For example, prefer the size based on your bust measurement for making a top, and waist measurement for a relaxed dress cinched at the waist.
If your measurements fall between sizes, consider the fit you prefer (looser or tighter) and the type of fabric you'll use, as some fabrics have more give. All patterns include finished garment measurements which can be helpful to know how much ease or extra room is built into the design.
