Armhole ribbing ran a little short on first cut

I cut the armhole ribbing strips to the length given in the instructions but found them slightly too short to ease around the curve without pulling. Cutting them about two centimetres longer than specified worked much better. That is a minor calibration issue rather than a real flaw, and the pattern itself is well worth making.

Swapped ribbing for a folded hem for a cleaner look

Instead of the ribbed neckline and armhole bands I used a folded and stitched hem finish, which gave the vest a cleaner, more minimal look. The instructions for the standard ribbing method made it easy to understand the seam allowance I needed to leave for a folded finish instead. A simple swap with a big visual impact.

I added eight centimetres to the body length before cutting to create a longer, tunic-style vest that I can wear over leggings. The proportions work well at the longer length and the hem ribbing still sits flat. The pattern lends itself easily to this kind of length modification.
