Great set but rashguard needs careful cutting

The finished Darya rashguard and shorts set is excellent - the fit in size S is very good and the construction is solid. My note is that the rashguard has some curved seam pieces that need to be cut very precisely to get a good fit at the underarm. I had to recut one piece when I rushed the first time. Taking your time at the cutting stage really pays off. Otherwise this is a wonderful pattern and I will make it again.

The Darya set has both rashguard and shorts pieces, so using the A0 format at my print shop meant I had everything on one large sheet. The layout was well planned and I could see how the pieces nested together to minimise waste. The cutting session was quick and efficient.

I added 3cm to the sleeve length for additional sun protection when swimming outdoors. The straight sleeve seam made this modification very straightforward. The longer sleeves still fit well through the wrist and the extra coverage is exactly what I was after.

The swim shorts waistband is constructed with a fold-over elastic rather than a separate waistband piece, which keeps it slim and comfortable against the skin. The technique is explained clearly in the guide. My finished shorts sit at the right height and the waistband has not rolled or shifted after wearing.

Setting sleeves in stretch fabric is something I have always found tricky, but the Darya instructions handle it really well. The guide explains how to ease the sleeve cap without creating puckers, which is different from setting a woven sleeve. As an intermediate sewist I really appreciated the specific guidance for stretch fabric.
