The fabric yardage/meterage seems a bit wrong. On the size 2-18 the fabric quoted for size 18 is 45" wide 6.64 yrd 60" wide 4.6 yrd.
But for the 18-32 it is suggesting for the size 18 45" wide 3.34 yrd 60" wide 2.33yrd. Could anyone explain to me why that is such a vast difference for basically the same size dress just using the larger pattern download. I think you might need to change the yardage on the pattern info as I could have bought too little fabric if I hadn't noticed it.
Hi Sarah, thank you for your detailed feedback.
The difference is the way the pieces are arranged in the pattern marker file which is why the regular size 18 takes more yardage vs the size 18 on the extended size.
Easy to understand instructions and pattern. Printed out perfectly! Sewing the jacket scrappy with each section a different fabric and the binding also scrappy. Making the jackets for Christmas gifts for family.
Hi Ruth! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the pattern and instructions. Your scrappy jackets for Christmas gifts sound wonderful—happy sewing! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Ok, I haven’t made the top yet, but these are the cutest & best fitting shorts I have made. This was my first Winslet pattern & it exceeded my expectations!
Hi Rachel! We're thrilled to hear you love the shorts and that your first Winslet's pattern exceeded expectations. Can't wait to see the top when you get to it. Thanks for sharing your experience!
This is the first swimsuit I attempted and it was really easy and fun to do. I even had one wrist in a cast. Highly suggest it
I did not understand that I needed to fold the fabric to get mirrored pieces, or flip one time for the wrap piece and flip one time for the side piece, if using a single layer of fabric.
It's a good thing I am making a muslin trial run before cutting my good fabric. The wrap part is tricky and finicky especially in the center front. Not sure if I am doing it right. I have been sewing most of the day. I am a beginner. Hopefully I can figure out the rest.
I am almost finished with the bodice and front wrap parts after taking it apart a couple times.
It would help if there was a video tutorial that shows and tells the tricky parts. The seams with the straps and wrap pieces are bulky. Not sure if I need to trim the bulky seams or clip curves. These details are not in the instructions. The illustrations are clear so far. I love the design. I will figure it out eventually. Hoping for a video tutorial soon.Thank you for your design.
